About the species

PWL - Snow White is a Pure White Line shrimp with a fully opaque, snow-white body and no dark marking at all. It is one of the purest white Caridina available in the hobby and a striking contrast against dark soil. It requires soft, acidic and very stable water.

Behavior

PWL - Snow White is a peaceful and curious shrimp that grazes across the whole aquarium throughout the day. It thrives best in a group of at least ten and appreciates moss, leaf litter and plenty of hiding places.

Reproduction

• Females usually carry 20–30 eggs under the tail
• The eggs hatch after about 30 days as fully developed shrimplets
• Requires soft, acidic and very stable water in order to breed

Feeding

PWL - Snow White is an omnivore with a clear plant bias and feeds on:

• Biofilm
• Algae
• Decaying leaves and plant matter

Feel free to supplement with:

• A Caridina-specific shrimp food
• Catappa or mulberry leaves
• Protein food, sparingly

• Minimum aquarium size: 30 litres

Recommendation

PWL - Snow White is a collector's choice that needs a good mineral balance to keep the dense white colour. Keep GH around 4–6 °dH and TDS stable, and supplement with minerals ahead of moults. Dark soil and a dark background give the best effect.
