A JBL pH test for the 6.0–7.6 range, the span most relevant in many shrimp and planted tanks. pH shows how acidic or alkaline the water is: 7 is neutral, lower is more acidic.
Test at the same time of day and after water changes so you can compare. Follow the colour scale in the pack.
pH is linked to KH. Store the reagents as directed and replace them when they are past their best.

Follow the directions carefully, use clean sample containers and avoid contaminating reagents or sensors. Rinse equipment with clean water after testing.
Test at the same time and under similar conditions when comparing values. Also test after major water changes, during problems or before adding sensitive animals.
Digital meters normally require regular calibration and correct sensor storage. Liquid tests should be checked for expiry and stored as directed.
Repeat with a clean sample and check calibration and expiry. Confirm with another method before making major aquarium changes.
