Lilaeopsis brasiliensis

Product description

About the species

Lilaeopsis brasiliensis from South America can grow very compactly, but a "grass effect" (4-7 cm high) is only achieved at high light intensity. When planting in the aquarium, small clumps (about 1/8 pot) should be placed a few centimeters apart to help the plants grow together faster.

Place in an open position without shading from other plants to ensure good light. Lilaeopsis brasiliensis can be used in garden ponds and also tolerates low salt concentrations in brackish water aquariums.

FAQ about Lilaeopsis brasiliensis

How do I plant Lilaeopsis brasiliensis?

Remove the plant from the cup, gently rinse away the nutrient gel and divide it into several small portions. Plant them with some space between each portion so they can establish.

Is Lilaeopsis brasiliensis free from snails and algae?

In vitro plants are grown under sterile conditions and normally arrive free from snails, algae and pesticides, making them suitable for sensitive shrimp aquariums.

Does Lilaeopsis brasiliensis need CO₂?

Requirements depend on the species. CO₂ and balanced plant nutrition often produce denser, healthier growth, but follow the light and care requirements in the product description.

What matters during the first few weeks?

Provide stable lighting and nutrition, avoid major changes and remove deteriorating leaves. Newly planted specimens often need time to adapt to submerged growth.
