The Asian Monosolenium tenerum is an attractive species of liverwort that is 2-5 cm tall and most resembles a giant Riccia that simply stays on the bottom, where it forms cushions.
It is a fragile plant, and pieces break off easily, so it is best placed in the aquarium attached to rocks with fishing line or in small clumps among other plants such as Eleocharis. Once established, Monosolenium is very undemanding. This plant is wrongly called Pellia.

Remove the plant from the cup, gently rinse away the nutrient gel and divide it into several small portions. Plant them with some space between each portion so they can establish.
In vitro plants are grown under sterile conditions and normally arrive free from snails, algae and pesticides, making them suitable for sensitive shrimp aquariums.
Requirements depend on the species. CO₂ and balanced plant nutrition often produce denser, healthier growth, but follow the light and care requirements in the product description.
Provide stable lighting and nutrition, avoid major changes and remove deteriorating leaves. Newly planted specimens often need time to adapt to submerged growth.
