About the species

Shrimp MIX - Neocaridina is a mixed batch of sorted Neocaridina davidi from our own breeding. The batch contains several colours and colour grades side by side — red, yellow, blue, green, black and orange individuals depending on what the sorting produced. All share the same simple care as other Neocaridina.

Behavior

Shrimp MIX - Neocaridina is a very peaceful and active shrimp that thrives best in a group. It can be kept together with other peaceful shrimp, snails and calm fish species that require similar water values.

Reproduction

• Females usually release up to 40 fully developed shrimplets
• New broods arrive roughly every 4–6 weeks
• The species breeds readily in fresh water under stable conditions

Feeding

Shrimp MIX - Neocaridina is primarily a grazer and feeds on:

• Biofilm
• Algae
• Organic material

Feel free to supplement with:

• A quality shrimp food
• Smaller amounts of protein food

Recommendation

A MIX batch is an affordable way to get started with shrimp keeping or to quickly fill out an existing colony. Keep in mind that different Neocaridina colours interbreed — after a few generations the offspring drift towards wild-type brown. If you want to preserve a specific colour, choose a pure variant instead.
