Hygrophila lancea 'Araguaia' is a Tropica stem plant with narrow leaves that turn reddish brown to purple when light and nutrients are good. Growth is average for a Hygrophila.
Pinch the tops regularly to keep a bushy shape instead of long, sparse shoots. Plant it in a nutrient-rich substrate and give moderate to strong light.
It suits the midground of planted tanks. It is tougher than many red stems but shows its best colour in stable, well-fed water.

Remove the plant from the cup, gently rinse away the nutrient gel and divide it into several small portions. Plant them with some space between each portion so they can establish.
In vitro plants are grown under sterile conditions and normally arrive free from snails, algae and pesticides, making them suitable for sensitive shrimp aquariums.
