Four porous blue air stones from AquaNova. They make small bubbles and better aeration when connected to an air pump with standard 4/6 mm tubing.
Place them where you want extra movement, for example by a sponge filter or in a still corner. A check valve protects the pump.
Air stones clog over time. Replace or boil them out when the bubbles become few and large.

Consider aquarium volume, biological load and desired flow. For shrimp, flow should provide good oxygenation without pushing the animals around.
Cover every intake with fine filter foam when small shrimp or fry are present. Check regularly that the guard remains fitted and unobstructed.
Clean it when flow decreases or dirt accumulates. Gently rinse biological media in removed aquarium water to preserve beneficial bacteria.
Check flow, noise, hose connections and leaks. Make sure the equipment is positioned according to the manufacturer’s directions.
