About the species

Red Sakura is an upgraded red variant of Neocaridina davidi with considerably more solid colour than an ordinary Red Cherry. The body is evenly red with only small translucent areas. It is hardy and easy to care for, suiting both beginners and experienced aquarists.

Behavior

Red Sakura is a very peaceful and active shrimp that thrives best in a group. It can be kept together with other peaceful shrimp, snails and calm fish species that require similar water values.

Reproduction

• Females usually release up to 40 fully developed shrimplets
• New broods arrive roughly every 4–6 weeks
• The species breeds readily in fresh water under stable conditions

Recommendation

Red Sakura gives a clearly stronger colour impression than Red Cherry with the same simple care. Cull weakly coloured individuals if you want to keep the colony at a high grade across generations. A dark substrate and green plants strengthen the red further.
